Islamabad, 21 April 2025: Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has marked a major milestone in its efforts to empower women by celebrating the success of its Shaheen Program — a unique initiative aimed at promoting women’s mobility and independence through driving and bike riding training.
Launched to break barriers and redefine gender roles, the Shaheen Program attracted 600 applicants, out of which 120 women were selected for intensive training.
After weeks of rigorous sessions, 92 participants successfully completed the program and earned their driving licenses, symbolising a step toward greater freedom and confidence.

She was joined by other senior officials who praised the initiative and its impact on women’s lives.
The Shaheen Program is more than a skills development effort — it is a movement towards social transformation.

By equipping women with the tools for independent mobility, PSO aims to create opportunities for personal growth, employment, and equal participation in public life.
The program’s success underlines PSO’s broader vision of driving positive change and fostering inclusivity.
As these women take the roads with new skills and confidence, they also carry forward the message of empowerment and self-reliance.
With the Shaheen Program, PSO continues to invest not only in fuel and energy, but in the future of the nation’s women — helping shape a society where everyone has the freedom to move forward.
