Islamabad, Sep 14: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has stepped up attempts to obtain approval for the PC-1 of a significant residential project near the Korang River that is targeted at Pakistanis living abroad.

According to specifics, this large-scale project will stretch for about 6.5 kilometers along the riverbanks and provide upscale housing options in a desirable area. In the meantime, the CDA is trying to get the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to fund the building of the Islamabad Bus Terminal, which is an essential addition to the city’s transit network.

The rebirth of Islamabad’s film industry was a major agenda item during the 13th CDA Board meeting, which was headed by CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa and held on Wednesday at the organization’s headquarters. All board members were present at the meeting, which had as its main objective updating the city’s infrastructure and making a number of important decisions.

Building four cutting-edge, internationally compliant theaters in Islamabad was one of the resolutions that stood out the most. The CDA has designated four more sites for the development of extra movie theaters. In addition to offering top-notch entertainment, these new venues will also have contemporary features to improve the overall experience, like plenty of parking, food and beverage options, and recreational areas.

In order to ensure that they fulfill modern demands and expectations, the CDA also oversaw the development of stories that had previously been assigned to theaters but were underutilized. Enhancing the CDA’s financial management was another important item discussed at the meeting.

The Member Finance will now be in charge of the Resource Wing in order to improve revenue production and streamline operations. The purpose of this restructure is to close loopholes in the current collection process, investigate new revenue streams, and improve the authority’s capacity to fulfill revenue targets.
