Islamabad, Aug 24: Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), visited the Islamabad Expressway project early on Saturday morning to inspect the construction activity. He observed the ongoing work on covering, the railway, and the Bhandar bridges with the assistance of CDA member engineering and other officers.

Chairman Randhawa received an update from Frontier Works Organization (FWO) representatives in his camp office during the visit, and they guaranteed him that the project would be finished by September 30 in spite of some minor setbacks due to monsoon rains. Over 98% of the work has been concluded, with the Cockbridge now open for traffic and structural work on other bridges completed, the chairman was informed.

Chairman Randhawa ordered that in order to improve the expressway’s aesthetic appeal, horticultural work should be done concurrently. He underlined how crucial it was to finish the project, saying that it would greatly enhance the city’s traffic flow. In addition, he emphasized the necessity of implementing a strong operation and maintenance model for any upcoming highway development and repairs.

Chairman Randhawa visited Park Road later in the day to inspect the ongoing work being done on the road construction and carpets. In order to guarantee a timely completion, he gave the officials orders to speed up the work on Park Road.
