ISLAMABAD, AUGUST 15: The eight-month-old Park Road Extension project now has an August 31 completion date. The contractor has been given a deadline of August 25th by the Works Department of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to complete the development.

Only one month after the CDA board decided not to sell valuable plots that it possessed in order to raise money for future expenses, they have suddenly approved the re-auction of commercial plots.
Asfandiar Bhutto, a member state, and other authorities have been instructed to move quickly to enable this sale.

According to CDA sources, 70% of the work on the Park Road Extension project, which is expected to cost Rs. 1.7 billion, has been finished. Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa had set July 14, 2024, as the initial date.

Three kilometers of the 7.2-kilometer road are still unfinished: one is on the other side and two are on the Rawal Roadside heading towards Taramri Chowk.

According to sources in the CDA Works Department, if double shifts are worked, the remaining work might be completed in six days, meaning the road could be operational by the deadline.A pre-feasibility study for many water supply projects in Islamabad conducted in collaboration with WAPDA was among the other projects that the board also authorized.

Among these are research on using water from Khanpur Dam via the CPEC route and pipeline transportation to the Sangjani Treatment Plant. Furthermore, investigations on the viability of building Islamabad’s Shahdara Dam and Chiniot Dam were authorized.
