Islamabad, April 05: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur warned the federal government to release KP’s share under the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award by April 30, or he would march on Islamabad with the province’s full administration and police.
He said KP was promised additional funds at the time of the FATA merger, accounting for the inclusion of 5.8 million people, but the federal government has failed to deliver.
Gandapur asserted, “NFC is my basic right… We are not weak enough to clinch our rights.”
- Outstanding Federal Dues
-
He claimed that the Centre owes KP over Rs75 billion under the Accelerated Implementation Program (AIP).
-
Gandapur emphasized that releasing these funds would help boost investment, development, and employment, which in turn would reduce terrorism.
- Security and Conflict Management
-
The CM highlighted that the KP government resolved the Kurram conflict and spent over Rs1 billion from its own resources for CCTV installation and check-posts to maintain peace.

He stressed that unless the federal government initiates talks, security reforms in KP would be incomplete.
- Opposition to Forced Deportation of Afghan Refugees

- On Meeting with Imran Khan
-
Gandapur confirmed a recent meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan, saying he waited two months despite being the CM.
-
Dismissing media speculation, he denied that Imran tasked him with negotiations with the military, stating, “It was a one-on-one meeting… I didn’t give any statement, so how can someone else say what was discussed?”
- This presser underscores KP’s growing tensions with the Centre over financial rights, security coordination, and humanitarian approaches—signaling that Gandapur is positioning himself as a firm advocate for provincial autonomy and PTI’s political stance.
