Social media celebrity Chahat Fateh Ali Khan, who is renowned for his bizarre and frequently embarrassing musical performances, has received a lawsuit seeking damages of Rs. 180 million. Chahat is accused of slandering the renowned musician Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan in the notice, which was sent out by Mian Muhammad Umair Niaz on behalf of Qaiser Munir Khan.
The letter accuses Chahat of insulting the people of Faisalabad, breaking the Copyright Act, and destroying the honorable name of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. It was sent to Chahat’s UK house. It especially alleges that Chahat’s controversial singing style has seriously tarnished Nusrat’s memory and that he falsely presented himself as a relative of the late performer.

The notification emphasizes how Chahat’s singing has enraged the people of Faisalabad and how his performances have caused widespread resentment among Nusrat’s fans.Chahat is required by the legal notice to publicly apologize on social media. The notification informs him that a defamation action would be brought in court if he does not reply within 15 days, according to Express News.

Defamation:
Chahat is charged with slandering Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan by drawing connections between the esteemed musician’s legacy and his own contentious musical performances.

Transgressing Faisalabad Locals
: The notification claims that the residents of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s hometown of Faisalabad have been greatly insulted by Chahat’s performances.

Copyright Violation:
Chahat is charged with utilizing Nusrat’s name in violation of the Copyright Act.

In addition, the notice asks Rs180 million in damages, citing the seriousness of the charges and the harm Chahat’s acts have caused to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s reputation. The legal notification states that the matter would be taken to court if Chahat does not abide by the demands within the allotted period.
