Islamabad, 21 April 2025: New Zealand batter Mark Chapman has joined the Quetta Gladiators squad for the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10.

His arrival gives the team a timely boost as they look to regain form in the tournament.

Chapman, who was selected in the Platinum category, had initially been unavailable for the early fixtures.

During his absence, Quetta brought in mystery spinner Ali Majid as a temporary replacement to reinforce their bowling options.

The 33-year-old spinner was seen as a tactical inclusion to add variety to the spin department.

The team’s management confirmed that Chapman arrived in Pakistan on Monday and would be participating in the squad’s training session later the same day.

Speaking to local media, team manager Azam Khan expressed confidence in Chapman’s impact on the team.

He noted that the left-handed batter brings both composure and aggression, qualities that are essential for a side struggling with middle-order consistency.

Known for his adaptability in pressure situations and a T20 strike rate above 130, Chapman is expected to bring stability to a batting line-up that has faltered in recent games.

His strength against spin bowling is seen as a key advantage, especially in conditions that favour slower bowlers.

Quetta Gladiators currently sit fourth on the PSL points table, having won just one of their first three matches.

With upcoming fixtures proving crucial for playoff hopes, Chapman’s arrival could be a turning point in their campaign.

The Gladiators are set to face Karachi Kings in their next match on Friday, April 25, at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
