Islamabad, Aug 26: For the eleventh year running, China has remained the leading market for industrial robots worldwide, accounting for more than half of all new installations over the previous three years.
At the just finished 2024 World Robot Conference (WRC) in Beijing, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), Xin Guobin, highlighted this accomplishment.
China has become a major force in the development of robotic technology, the expansion of its applications, and the regulation of the sector over time. According to MIIT, the country currently holds over 190,000 robotics patents that are still valid, making up about two-thirds of the worldwide total.
China has solidified its position as the world’s largest consumer market and a top manufacturer of robotics because to the country’s quick robotics advancements. In order to improve the integration of cutting-edge technology with robotics, Marina Bill, President of the International Federation of Robotics (IFR), underlined the significance of international collaboration among governments, businesses, and research institutions. She pointed out that this would lead to more widespread uses in sectors like manufacturing, healthcare, services, and rescue operations, according to a CEN report.
The five-day WRC effectively came to an end on August 25 with panels where global professionals in academia, industry, and research shared insights on important robotics-related problems.Nearly 1.4 million people have attended nearly 200 forums, 2,246 expert talks, and the World Robot Conference during the last ten years. Furthermore, 1,249 businesses have displayed their innovations.
