Islamabad, Sep 12: The Punjab government has decided 40% Increase in Financial Aid for Martyrs in response to growing inflation, which will make it easier for them to find accommodation. During a recent cabinet meeting, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz approved the plan.
According to Punjab Police sources, these families are no longer receiving enough financial support because of the skyrocketing expenditures. The families of policemen martyrs receive a 5-marla home worth Rs. 13.5 million.
A 7-marla house worth Rs. 17.5 million is given to the families of assistant sub-inspectors (ASI) and sub-inspectors, while a 10-marla house worth Rs. 25 million is given to the families of inspectors and deputy superintendents of police (DSP).
Martyrs at the DIG rank receive a 1-kanal house worth Rs. 50 million, while superintendents of police (SP) and senior superintendents of police (SSP) receive a 12-marla house valued at Rs. 30 million.
The payout for the families of martyr constables will now be revised to include Rs. 18.9 million, while the package for the families of ASIs and sub-inspectors would now include Rs. 24.5 million. Housing benefits for the families of SP, SSP, and DIG martyrs would also increase by 40%.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz supported the idea, which aimed to lessen the financial burden on the families of those who gave their lives in the line of duty, in spite of objections from the Finance Department.
