Islamabad, Sep 6: The “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” project was formally introduced by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz at a recent ceremony held at the Commissioner Office in DG Khan. Provincial ministers, assembly members, and local dignitaries attended the event, which included a lottery draw to choose the first recipients of the program. The winner of the first draw was Abdul Latif.

The first loan installment under this program will be sent to approved candidates by September 15. The program provides loans up to 1.5 million rupees, with a seven-year payback schedule of 14,000 rupees each month.

Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” initiative has the potential to revolutionize housing access throughout the region and that it is expected to grow into the largest housing project of its kind in Pakistan. Earlier, during a news conference, province communications minister Azma Bokhari disclosed that 80,000 individuals had signed up for the initiative.
