Islamabad, Sep 23: The unlawful, unregistered, and private housing schemes and settlements are the target of a crackdown launched by the Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA).

The tehsil municipal officer, Mazhar Muzaffar Awan, stated in a news conference on Sunday that “nearly all housing schemes and towns currently under development or selling plot files are unregistered and have not been approved by the district scrutiny committee, led by the Deputy Commissioner.”

He clarified that the majority of these schemes were misleading the public by producing phony allotment letters and paperwork, which is why the crackdown was initiated. Awan urged people not to buy plots from these unapproved plans, saying, “We have sealed the offices and filed a FIR against the Paradigm City Housing Scheme, which began selling plots without even acquiring the land.”

“We have initiated legal proceedings against all 14 private housing schemes and towns in the tehsil and have publicly listed their names,” Awan continued. He added that these fake home developments were the brainchild of powerful land grabers who were defrauding people of their hard-earned money.

Awan added that there are legal procedures being taken to apprehend the people behind these fraudulent and unregistered housing schemes. “We have sent notices to unregistered and unlicensed schemes adhering to the KP Private Housing Scheme Management and Regulation Rules 2021, which were enacted by the provincial government,” he stated.
