Islamabad, Aug 28: In the Islamabad district, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Irfan Nawaz Memon has started an examination of all 66 private housing communities. The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Revenue (ADCR), Imtiaz Janjua, and other revenue officers attended a meeting centered on revenue problems where this decision was taken.
The audit’s objective is to examine these housing societies’ fees and make sure they follow all applicable laws and financial guidelines. The panel also discussed pending revenue issues in Islamabad and evaluated how earlier decisions had been implemented. In order to improve citizen convenience, a focus was placed on meeting income targets and moving forward with the digitization of land records.
DC Memorandum ordered that all outstanding revenue cases be settled as soon as possible, emphasizing how crucial the digital policy is to making public processes more efficient. The Revenue Department received daily reports on these cases from the ADCR, and any revenue staff member who delayed a case without a good justification would be subject to disciplinary action.
The Excise and Taxation Department, under the direction of Assistant Excise Officer Asif Shah, carried out a thorough operation aimed at resolving vehicle compliance issues concurrently with the housing society audit. This operation targeted cars with tinted windows, police revolving lights, non-sample number plates, and unpaid token taxes.66 cars were consequently targeted for a variety of infractions, such as using illegal number plates and tinted glasses. Furthermore, 99 cars that were not using their registration number plates were fined.
Due to legal breaches, 53 automobiles had their registration suspended, and three vehicles had their police lights removed before the government seized them. Moreover, token tax and fines were collected from 200 automobiles that did not pay their required taxes.
