In a separate but equally devastating incident near Moon Market in Gulshan-e-Ravi, two young men riding a motorcycle were hit by a speeding bus.
One victim was pronounced dead on the spot, while the other suffered critical injuries. Witnesses stated that despite the crash occurring close to a police station, officers failed to respond in a timely manner.
Similar to the earlier case, the bus driver escaped from the location, leaving behind the vehicle, which was later seized by law enforcement.
Police officials confirmed that investigations into both accidents are underway. Surveillance cameras in the areas are being reviewed to help identify the drivers and gather further evidence.
Authorities have also formed special teams to pursue those responsible for the tragic events.
The incidents have sparked renewed public anger over the reckless operation of public transport vehicles in Lahore and the apparent gaps in traffic law enforcement.
Many residents have called for stricter measures to regulate bus drivers and to ensure that prompt action is taken following road accidents.
