Islamabad, Jan 21: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has launched an innovative Rating and Reward System for its officers as part of its ongoing transformation agenda. This system is a crucial component of the FBR’s strategy to enhance operational efficiency and foster a merit-based culture of recognition and accountability.

A detailed notification was circulated to all pivotal members of the FBR, including Chief Collectors, Director Generals of Pakistan Customs, and Chief Commissioners and Director Generals of Inland Revenue.

This communication outlined the framework and protocols for deploying the system, signaling its readiness for a preliminary phase.

FBR  Test-Run

Specifically targeting officers in the PCS/IRS cadre of BS-17 and above, the system is structured to evaluate performance transparently and equitably, ensuring that excellence is both recognized and rewarded.

As a precursor to the system’s test run, which is slated for Tuesday, January 21, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, essential preparatory steps were mandated.

These included a directive for all relevant officers to update their contact details within the HRIS, facilitating smooth and effective communication during the rating process.

Officers are expected to log into the system by 2:30 PM on the day of the test run to troubleshoot any potential technical issues.

During the designated testing window, officers will engage in a peer rating exercise, where they will assess their colleagues based on predefined performance metrics, categorizing them from grades A to E. This exercise is aimed at validating the system’s functionality and ensuring that the implementation is robust and effective.

The successful rollout of this system is anticipated to not only enhance performance evaluations but also establish a new standard for accountability and efficiency in governmental operations, serving as a model for other public sector entities.
