Islamabad, Mar 5, 2025: The Directorate General of Customs Valuation in Karachi has updated the customs values for imported mobile phone LCD screens from China and Hong Kong.

As per the latest valuation ruling issued on Tuesday, Valuation Ruling No. 1979 of 2025 has replaced the previous Valuation Ruling No. 1576/2021, which was enforced on December 8, 2021.

The customs values for these goods had remained unchanged since 2021.

Following an in-depth review of import data, prevailing market trends, discrepancies in market pricing, and existing customs valuations,

The authorities initiated a reassessment process under Sections 25 and 25A of the Customs Act, 1969.

To ensure a fair evaluation, a consultative meeting was conducted with relevant stakeholders,

who were given the opportunity to present their perspectives regarding the customs valuation of the specified goods.

Additionally, they were requested to provide pertinent import documentation to support their claims.

To determine the revised customs values, a comprehensive examination of import data covering the past ninety (90) days was conducted.

The retrieved data was meticulously analyzed, and certain declared values were referenced as benchmarks for evaluation.

However, based on this thorough analysis, the transaction values for the specified LCD screens have been finalized.

These revised figures will now serve as the official customs values for the calculation of duties and taxes applicable to these goods, as stated in the ruling.
