Islamabad, Feb 21: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) intensified its anti-encroachment drive, clearing both temporary and permanent illegal structures in Allama Iqbal Colony on Friday. The operation, led by anti-encroachment squads, also targeted unauthorized constructions on state land in Kutchi Abadi Ghulam Muhammad Abad, where illegally built structures were demolished. Additionally, officials successfully retrieved a plot belonging to the Solid Waste Management Company in Gulshan-e-Yousaf, a housing scheme situated on Millat Road.

Estate Officer Mian Qamar Shahzad supervised the crackdown, emphasizing that strict legal action, including criminal charges and hefty fines, would be imposed on those who continue to occupy public roads and footpaths. He reiterated the FDA’s commitment to reclaiming public spaces and warned encroachers against attempting to re-establish illegal settlements.

The operation is part of a broader effort by the FDA to maintain urban order and facilitate smooth pedestrian and vehicular movement across Faisalabad. Authorities have urged residents and businesses to cooperate with the drive, reinforcing that encroachments not only disrupt public convenience but also hinder planned urban development. The FDA has pledged to continue monitoring key areas, ensuring that reclaimed spaces remain free from unauthorized occupation.
