Islamabad, Feb 3: In a significant move to curb criminal activities, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Faisalabad apprehended a currency exchange dealer in Farooqabad, Punjab, on Sunday for attempting to send counterfeit currency notes through a courier service.
The suspect had packed fake currency notes valued at Rs. 200,000 intended for delivery to various locations, including Quetta, Karachi, and Sialkot. However, the courier company quickly detected the fraudulent cash and promptly alerted the FIA, leading to the suspect’s arrest.
This operation underscores the agency’s vigilance in combating counterfeit currency operations in the region.
In another operation, FIA officials arrested a notorious human smuggler who had been involved in illegally facilitating travel to Spain. The smuggler had swindled a citizen of Rs. 4.7 million with promises of safe passage. However, the victim, wary of the unsafe journey, refused to board the boat and returned to Pakistan.

In a disturbing turn of events, Faisalabad’s Millat Town Police filed a case against a fraudulent priest accused of kidnapping a young girl from a Christian family. The suspect, already a father of five, allegedly arranged a fake marriage to deceive the girl’s family. The Minority Rights Movement (MRM) has strongly condemned this act and called for swift justice.
The movement is demanding the suspect’s immediate arrest and the safe return of the girl, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding minority communities from such heinous acts.
