Islamabad, Aug 4: The Ministry of Education in Islamabad started the Pink Bus Service for female instructors and students. The government released a statement stating that starting on August 7, female teachers and children at Islamabad’s bus stop will have access to the pink buses. According to the Ministry of Education, Prime Minister Shehbaz ordered the service’s inauguration, and it will travel all of the capital city’s main thoroughfares.
The announcement said, “The goal of this initiative is to empower women and girls’ education in Islamabad by facilitating easy and safe travel for them between rural and urban areas.”According to the Ministry of Education, female teachers and students would have free, convenient, and safe transportation options with the pink bus service. To make this operation successful, there will be consistent monitoring and assessment.
The education secretary had earlier stated that the Ministry of Education had taken this action in light of the dearth of suitable transit options, particularly for women and girls.According to the secretary, the ministry has determined that thirty percent of the 385 buses in total are not in service at the moment for a variety of reasons, including a lack of funding, drivers, and regular maintenance. According to him, those buses will be fixed and back in service by June 15 and would then begin offering female teachers and students free transportation.
