Islamabad, Mar 2, 2025: Despite assurances from gas distribution firms, several cities across Pakistan experienced critical gas shortages during the first Sehri of Ramadan 2025, leaving countless residents struggling to prepare their pre-dawn meals.

According to ARY News, gas providers had guaranteed an uninterrupted supply during Sehri and Iftar hours.

However, on the first day of Ramadan, multiple areas, including Karachi and Rawalpindi, reported complete gas outages, creating significant inconvenience for households.

In Karachi, localities such as Rifah Aam Society, Malir, Nazimabad, Gulbahar, and Ranchore Line were severely impacted.

Similarly, Rawalpindi’s Sixth Road, Satellite Town, Dhoke Kashmirian, Dhoke Pracha, Service Road, Dhoke Kala Khan, Khurram Colony, and Sadiqabad also faced prolonged gas shortages.

Due to the lack of gas, many families were unable to cook Sehri, compelling them to seek meals from restaurants and roadside vendors.

In some neighborhoods, residents had no alternative but to start their fast without a proper meal, intensifying their frustration over the ongoing crisis.

The gas supply failure on the very first day of Ramadan has raised serious concerns regarding the reliability of gas distribution throughout the holy month.

Both Sui Northern Gas Company and Sui Southern Gas Company fell short of their commitments to ensure an uninterrupted supply, leaving citizens uncertain about the situation in the coming days.

The ongoing gas shortage issue has sparked widespread dissatisfaction, with many demanding immediate action from authorities to resolve the crisis before it further disrupts the holy month of fasting.

If the problem persists, it could lead to mounting public outrage and put further pressure on the government to address the shortcomings in gas distribution services.
