Islamabad, Aug 19: The price of gold in Pakistan decreased slightly on Monday. A tola of 24-karat gold was sold for Rs260,000, down Rs200. It is noteworthy that the pricing has been maintained at a substantial Rs4,000 less than what it actually costs now.

This year, the yellow metal has increased by 18%, or Rs40,000 per tola, on the back of significant purchases by central banks and mounting prospects of monetary easing.The price of 24-karat gold was further announced by the Karachi Sarafa Association to be Rs222,908 per 10-gram, a decrease of Rs172.

In a similar vein, a lower price of Rs204,332 per 10-gram for 22-karat gold was offered.However, domestic silver prices stayed the same, with 24-karat silver selling for Rs2,950 a tola and Rs2,529 per 10-gram. Globally, spot gold was trading at about $2,504 per ounce, down $2.3 or 0.09% from the previous trading day.
