Islamabad, Feb 22: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Education Department has officially prohibited educational field trips and picnics for students in government schools across the province. This decision, announced through a formal notification, directs all public schools to refrain from organizing any outdoor educational tours, excursions, or recreational outings.

According to the notice issued by the Elementary and Secondary Education Department, all District Education Officers (DEOs), including those in merged districts, have been strictly instructed to enforce this ban. School administrations are required to comply with these directives to ensure adherence to the new policy.

Section 144 Imposed to Restrict Junk Food Sales Near Schools

In a separate development, the Deputy Commissioner of Peshawar has implemented Section 144 to curb the sale of junk food within a 150-meter radius of schools. This measure aims to safeguard students’ health by restricting access to unhealthy food items near educational institutions.

The district administration has taken this step as a preventive measure to promote better nutrition among students and address rising health concerns. Vendors caught selling substandard snacks, including chips and other unhealthy food items, will face legal action under Section 144. As per the notification, this restriction will remain in place for the next 30 days.

Authorities have emphasized that these regulations are part of a broader effort to enhance student welfare and ensure a safe, healthy learning environment.
