Islamabad, Aug 30: The Pakistan Nursing Council’s president, Farzana Zulfiqar, has been accused of holding degrees that aren’t confirmed, which has caused a huge scandal within the organization. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan made the allegations public after carrying out a comprehensive inquiry.
Farzana Zulfiqar allegedly received her degrees from the Kaiser Permanente Medical Care Programme Institute, which the commission does not recognize. This information is according to the HEC. The institute is not mentioned on the UNESCO website, which raises more questions about the validity of its qualifications, according to the HEC’s verification process.
In addition, the HEC noted that the institute does not have charter status, which is a prerequisite for any institution to receive commission recognition. This indicates that Kaiser Permanente is not regarded as an accredited educational institution by the HEC. Farzana Zulfiqar’s degrees have drawn complaints to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
In addition, it has been found that Farzana Zulfiqar was not legally appointed as a council member under the Gilgit-Baltistan quota. The continuing investigation has become even more complex as a result of this disclosure.
