Islamabad, Oct 29: Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University (SZAB) has been ordered to administer a new entrance exam within a month after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) accepted a petition contesting the previous MDCAT exam for admission to medical and dental colleges.

After the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) reported that a number of the MDCAT exam’s questions were not on the syllabus, Justice Arbab Tahir of the IHC decided in favor of the case.

In response to accusations of irregularities in the examination procedure, Justice Salahuddin Panhwar of the Sindh High Court previously ordered that the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) be retaken within four weeks.

Justice Panhwar stressed the value of clarity for students when presiding over the case alongside Justice Amjad Ali Sahito, saying, “We cannot leave students in a state of uncertainty.”

In response to several petitions claiming inconsistencies in the MDCAT exam, the court issued the directive, emphasizing the necessity of an open and equitable procedure to protect students’ futures.
