Islamabad, Dec1: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar inaugurated the annual Charity Bazaar organized by the Pakistan Foreign Office Women’s Association (PFOWA) on Sunday. The vibrant event, held at the Foreign Office, featured cultural stalls from various embassies, showcasing a rich tapestry of global heritage, food, and handicrafts.
The bazaar aimed to raise funds for underprivileged communities while fostering cultural exchange and goodwill among nations. Diplomats, their families, and residents from Islamabad and Rawalpindi gathered to experience this unique cultural exhibition.
Speaking at the inauguration, Ishaq Dar highlighted the importance of such initiatives in promoting mutual understanding and friendship. “Today’s bazaar offers a wonderful opportunity to explore diverse cultures and traditions while supporting charitable causes pursued by PFOWA,” he stated.
He commended the diplomatic community for their enthusiastic participation and praised the creativity displayed in each stall. “It’s heartwarming to see every country showcase their unique heritage, from delicious cuisines to intricate handicrafts, creating a memorable experience for visitors,” he said.
Dar emphasized that the event’s theme, “Joining Hands, Joining Hearts,” was particularly meaningful in the context of today’s global challenges. Referring to the devastating floods in Malaysia that displaced over 140,000 people, he reiterated the importance of unity and compassion. “In a world facing numerous crises, fostering brotherhood, friendship, and collaboration is essential,” he added.
The bazaar also aimed to enhance awareness of Pakistan’s cultural and economic life. Dar noted that PFOWA consistently contributes to this goal through exhibitions, cultural shows, and social events. The Charity Bazaar successfully combined cultural celebration with a noble cause, reinforcing Pakistan’s commitment to global harmony and community support.
