The Pakistan women’s cricket team has kicked off a four-day training camp at Karachi’s Hanif Mohammad High Performance Centre in preparation for the upcoming ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2024. The camp, starting Wednesday morning, sees the women’s national selection committee inviting 28 cricketers to assess their skills ahead of finalizing the squad for the tournament in Dambulla, Sri Lanka.

During the camp, scheduled at the Hanif Mohammad High Performance Centre in Karachi, players will engage in practice sessions on Friday, alongside T20 practice matches at the Moin Khan Academy set for Thursday and Saturday. Overseen by Abdur Rehman and Hanif Malik, the camp aims to hone skills ahead of final selection for the ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2024.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also unveiled the team management for the tournament. Muhammad Wasim will lead as head coach, supported by former Test bowlers Abdur Rehman and Junaid Khan as spin bowling and assistant coaches, respectively.

The eight-team ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup is slated for Dambulla, Sri Lanka, from July 19 to 28. Pakistan, positioned in Group ‘A’ alongside India, Nepal, and the UAE, will begin their campaign against India on the tournament’s opening day, followed by matches against Nepal on July 21 and the UAE on July 23.
