Islamabad, Dec 7: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts nighttime temperatures in Karachi to drop to a minimum of 13°C to 15°C tonight Islamabad, Dec 7:

After recording a low of 16°C with 76% humidity in the past 24 hours, the city is gearing up for clear skies and northeast winds at 6 km/h, adding a mild chill to the air.

This temperature dip signals the onset of winter in the provincial capital of Sindh, following a prolonged wait. The PMD forecasts cooler nights and dry daytime weather over the next 24 hours, in line with earlier predictions of a seasonal shift.

However, Karachi’s residents are also grappling with persistent smoggy conditions. Data from IQAir highlights “very unhealthy” air quality levels caused by emissions from vehicles, factories, and crop burn-offs.

Authorities have not implemented significant measures to mitigate the city’s rising Air Quality Index (AQI) despite the seasonal spike in pollution.
