Islamabad, Nov 1: Karachi Sets New Record for Hottest October Night in 57 Years. In October of this year, Karachi had record-breaking evening temperatures, creating new climate records. October’s minimum average temperature reached 30.9 degrees Celsius, breaking a 57-year-old record of 30.6 degrees established in 1967, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
Along with this general increase in temperature, the city’s nighttime high this month was 26.3 degrees Celsius, up from 25.7 degrees the previous year. October’s temperatures were 0.6 degrees higher than usual, according to the PMD, suggesting a rising trend.Early tomorrow morning, warm, dry winds from Balochistan may bring fog to Karachi’s outskirts.
These winds are expected to have a brief effect on visibility in the mornings as they move across the city, according to the PMD’s Early Warning Centre. With temperatures projected to hit 34 to 36 degrees Celsius, Karachi’s environment is expected to remain warm and humid. Similar hot and dry conditions are predicted for other regions of Sindh.
The PMD recently explained that there is no immediate risk of a heatwave because the conditions for a heatwave are that sea breezes must stop for three days in a row, the daytime temperature must be 40 degrees, and the humidity must be greater than 60%. Humidity peaks in the morning and decreases in the afternoon, and coastal breezes are expected to return by the evening.
