Islamabad, Jan 9: Martin Guptill (Kiwi), one of New Zealand’s most prolific white-ball cricketers, has officially announced his retirement from international cricket.The 38-year-old last represented the Black Caps in October 2022 but took his time before confirming his decision.He will continue to play in T20 leagues worldwide.

A Storied Career

Guptill leaves the international stage as New Zealand’s second-highest run-scorer in ODIs, amassing 7,346 runs in 198 matches.Only Ross Taylor (8,607) and Stephen Fleming (8,007) have scored more for the Black Caps in this format.In T20Is, Guptill remains New Zealand’s all-time leading run-scorer with 3,531 runs in 122 matches at a strike rate of 135.70.

  • ODI Debut Century: Guptill burst onto the scene in January 2009, smashing 122 not out against the West Indies in his ODI debut.

PSL 10 Draft Participation

Martin Guptill has officially signed up for the PSL 10 draft.He is among the 22 foreign players who have registered for the upcoming season, including New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell and Colin Munro, and England’s Jason Roy, Luke Wood, Dawid Malan, and David Willey.
