The Pakistan Cricket Team’s disappointing performance in the 2024 T20 World Cup has been attributed to a lack of coordination and team spirit, according to a report submitted by Senior Manager Wahab Riaz to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Local media reports indicate that the assessment, which was submitted to PCB Director Usman Wahla and incorporated inputs from team manager Mansoor Rana, outlined various factors contributing to Pakistan’s early exit from the tournament.

Riaz highlighted significant shortcomings in strategic planning and on-field execution, emphasizing that the team failed to meet the expected standards of cricketing skill for such a prestigious event. He pointed out that inadequate coordination among players severely impacted their ability to execute game plans effectively.

The report by Wahab Riaz included several recommendations aimed at enhancing Pakistan’s future cricketing endeavors. These suggestions encompassed organizing intensive training camps, increasing participation in domestic cricket, prioritizing player fitness, and arranging more international tours to help players adapt to diverse playing conditions.

The PCB is currently reviewing Wahab’s comprehensive report to formulate strategies for improving the team’s performance in upcoming tournaments.
