Islamabad, Sep 12: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has persisted in its efforts to suppress unlawful land subdivisions, housing plans, and the unpermitted habitation of public utility sites in Lahore’s recognized communities.

The infrastructure for three illegal housing schemes and land subdivisions on Multan Road and Ferozepur Road was demolished by the LDA’s Private Housing Schemes Directorate. This included Central Squire on Ferozepur Road, an unauthorized land subdivision on Multan Road, and the demolition of Amjad Homes’ roadways and drainage infrastructure. Furthermore, the Revenue Employees Co-Operative Housing Society’s office was sealed by the LDA.

Additionally, LDA personnel reclaimed park grounds and public utility sites at Gulshan-e-Ehbab Phases II and III, Venus Housing Scheme, and Pak Arab. The operation was led by Director of Private Housing Schemes Asadullah Cheema and involved heavy machinery and police backing. Tahir Farooq, the director general of the LDA, has directed that these strict measures against unauthorized land subdivisions and housing projects in Lahore be carried out consistently
