Islamabad, Aug 29: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) conducted a significant operation as part of its ongoing campaign against individuals who fail to pay commercial fees and unlawful development in several regions.
Directors TP Ayesha Mutahir and Ahmed Saeed carried out the operation at Timber Market, Gujjarpura, Sabzazar, Gulshan Ravi, and the neighboring regions of Shadman, under the supervision of Chief Town Planner-I Asad Zaman.
Four unlawful buildings in Timber Market and two in Gujjarpura were dismantled by LDA workers. Additionally, they sealed five properties for breaking rules regarding construction materials and 20 properties in Gulshan Ravi for failing to pay commercial rates. Among these establishments were banks, food stores, medical facilities, and private schools.
Staff from LDA Town Planning Zone II focused on specific blocks in Sabzazar and Mustafa Town during a different operation, sealing over 20 properties for failing to pay commercial rates. Private schools, supermarkets, real estate offices, tailor shops, motorbike shops, catering establishments, steel stores, and other establishments were among the impacted buildings.
In the meantime, LDA DG Tahir Farooq reviewed the ongoing encroachment operation by visiting Pine Avenue and Ada Plot. The property owners’ 20 to 30 foot encroachments were taken down, as were any unauthorized signboards and advertisement boards erected in the parking lot.
