Islamabad, Sep 25: In a significant crackdown on illegal constructions and unauthorized commercial buildings, LDA teams demolished eight structures and sealed 17 commercial properties during an operation on Tuesday.

Led by Chief Town Planner-I Asad Zaman, the operation targeted areas such as Sabzazar, Multan Road, Allama Iqbal Town, and Marghzar Colony, following the directives of LDA DG Tahir Farooq.

Zaman reported that an illegal warehouse was demolished, along with structures in Canal View Society and at the Sabzazar truck stand.

A marriage hall in Sabzazar’s P Block and illegal hotel sheds in Allama Iqbal Town’s Karim Block were also torn down. Properties in Nishtar Block and Ravi Block faced similar actions for unauthorized alterations.

The LDA emphasized that prior notices had been issued to these properties, and strict action will continue against illegal constructions.

Additionally, the LDA announced its first public auction of the financial year, to be held on September 25, 2024, at the Expo Centre in Johar Town, offering commercial and residential plots, parking sites, hospital sites, and more.
