Islamabad, Nov 13: Maruti Suzuki Dzire Sets New Benchmark for Safety in Affordable Cars. India continues to be a hub for affordable vehicles, and Maruti Suzuki’s newly launched 4th-generation Dzire sedan demonstrates that budget-friendly cars can also prioritize safety and come equipped with numerous features.

Starting at approximately $8,000, the Dzire provides essential transportation without sacrificing safety, even as car prices soar globally. The Maruti Suzuki Dzire has earned a prestigious five-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test.

In contrast to many low-cost models that often lack fundamental safety features, the Dzire is equipped with six airbags, an Electronic Stability Program (ESP), hill hold assist, and pedestrian safety measures. Maruti Suzuki took the initiative to have its vehicles crash tested, certain of their safety despite the affordable price tag.

Powered by a 1.2-liter engine, the Dzire generates 80 hp and 113 Nm of torque. An even more fuel-efficient CNG variant is available, producing 69 hp and 102 Nm of torque. The car transmits power to the front wheels via a five-speed manual or an automated manual transmission, focusing on fuel economy rather than speed.

At 157.2 inches long, the Dzire is compact in size. Nevertheless, the trunk offers a spacious 382 liters of capacity, suitable for a small family’s requirements. The lightest model weighs around 920 kg, contributing to its efficiency and ease of maneuverability.

The Dzire features elements that promote comfort and convenience. Higher trims are equipped with a 360-degree camera, automatic climate control, rear air vents, a wireless charging option, and an electric sunroof. The 9-inch touchscreen supports wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, showcasing technology typically found in more expensive vehicles.

Since its launch in 2008, the Dzire has recorded sales of over 2.7 million units in India. Maruti Suzuki intends to broaden the Dzire’s availability to regions such as Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and ASEAN, making a safe yet affordable car accessible to new markets.
