Islamabad, Sep 1: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has pledged to provide low-income households their own home.

Founder and Chairman of Akhuwat Dr. Amjad Saqib called on Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz. CM Maryam commended the social services of Akhuwat under the leadership of Dr. Amjad Saqib. Dr. Saqib lauded the Punjab CM’s efforts in providing relief in electricity bills and the “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” program.

Maryam Nawaz declared that the goal of the administration was to enable low-income households throughout the province to realize their ambition of owning a property. The ‘Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar’ program, she said, has already begun in Punjab and would be extended annually.

The “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” initiative was supposed to grow into Pakistan’s biggest and most reasonably priced housing development ever. Maryam Nawaz emphasized that housing for the less fortunate members of society was its main goal.

She said that government subsidies will be given, and the program will have simple monthly installments to lessen the financial load on the general population.

The chief minister of Punjab emphasized that the scheme will encourage the building of environmentally friendly and sustainable dwellings. It was anticipated that the opening of this ground-breaking housing project would enhance the lives of innumerable families and create jobs for millions of people.

Maryam Nawaz stated that the program would be the first such endeavor in Pakistan to provide interest-free loans for home development, guaranteeing that the supply of housing for the homeless was a primary objective.

According to her, the project would be introduced in three phases as part of the Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar initiative. In rural areas, residents may apply for loans up to Rs. 1.5 million for plots up to 10 marlas, and in urban areas, up to 5 marlas. The “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” scheme will have interest-free monthly repayments of about Rs. 14.,000.

In big cities, four-story flats will be constructed on government land, to be distributed in convenient payments using a lottery method. Three to five marla homes will be available through private housing programs, with up to Rs 1 million in government subsidies for each property. In private housing complexes, those who apply will be able to become homeowners by making the final installment payments over a period of five years.

Dr. Amjad Saqib commended Maryam Nawaz for her dedication to tackling challenges facing the average person.
