An NGO that works to advance education in Pakistan, Muslim Hands, has applauded the Prime Minister’s recent proclamation of a “Education Emergency” that intends to enroll 26.2 million out-of-school children (OOSC). The group has reiterated its dedication to aiding the government in this important endeavor.
Syed Javed Gillani, Executive Director of Muslim Hands Pakistan, highlighted the organization’s significant contributions to the education sector over the previous 25 years in a statement released on Saturday. Muslim Hands was founded with the intention of providing marginalized populations, especially those living in rural and disaster-affected areas, with high-quality education.
Syed Javed Gillani outlined the noteworthy accomplishments of the organization, which include the formation of more than 500 educational institutions and schools throughout Pakistan via public-private partnerships, the provision of infrastructure and educational resources to thousands of students, and the training of hundreds of educators and teachers.
He stated that over the past 20 years, Muslim Hands has invested 85 million dollars in Pakistani education and directly or indirectly equipped over 200,000 children from preschool to university.
“After pursuing higher education, many of these students have gone on to serve the nation in various capacities,” he said. “We combine our education initiatives with health, environmental, and food security projects.”
Syed Javed Gillani restated Muslim Hands Pakistan’s pledge to assist the government in resuming the education of out-of-school youth.
He stated, “We are prepared to play our role, leveraging our international and national experience in promoting education. We stand with the federal and provincial governments, especially the federal education ministry, in this cause.”
He applauded the government’s attempts to bring together relevant parties, such as institutional donors, ambassadors, and ministers of education, in order to address Pakistan’s education crisis. “To achieve inclusive education for all, Muslim Hands Pakistan is proud to be a part of this collective effort, working with partners like UNICEF, the British Council, and the British High Commission,” he continued.
