Islamabad, Sep 1: The nation’s capital is set to become a “Model Digital City,” incorporating a wide range of technological innovations for the betterment of its citizens. Officials from the Ministry of Information Technology have stated that this initiative’s pilot project will be carried out in Islamabad. This change is in line with the Prime Minister’s digitalization goal.
Residents will have access to 150 government services via a new City Super Application thanks to the “Model Digital City” project. Numerous governmental and administrative services, including as those provided by the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Islamabad Police, health services, and educational institutions, would be made easier with this smartphone app. The idea is to get people to utilize the app so they can access these services more quickly.
In order to improve parking management and reduce traffic in the city, the app will also have an e-parking option. The initiative will involve installing smart cameras with AI around Islamabad. These cameras will be essential for keeping an eye on street crime, boosting security, and streamlining traffic for both locals and visitors.
According to officials, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, the minister of state for information technology and telecommunication, believes that digital transformation is essential to the growth of the nation. According to her, the prime minister’s office, the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, is dedicated to implementing the Digital Pakistan Vision, with the Digital Pakistan Policy laying the groundwork for future advancements in this field.
