Islamabad, Jan 12: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has made significant changes to the Regassified Liquified Natural Gas (RLNG) prices for January 2025, impacting both Sui Northern Pipeline Gas Limited (SNGPL) and Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL).

For SNGPL, RLNG transmission prices have decreased by 1.98%, dropping from $11.96 per MMBtu in December to $11.72 per MMBtu in January. Similarly, the RLNG distribution price for SNGPL has also fallen by 1.81%, from $12.89 per MMBtu in December to $12.66 per MMBtu in January

On the other hand, RLNG prices for SSGCL have experienced a slight increase. The transmission price has gone up by 0.44%, rising from $10.54 per MMBtu in December to $10.58 per MMBtu in January. Additionally, the RLNG distribution price for SSGCL has increased by 0.45%, from $12.54 per MMBtu in December to $12.60 per MMBtu in January.

These price fluctuations reflect the ongoing trends in the international energy market, with a general downward shift in global RLNG prices in recent months. Furthermore, the stability of Pakistan’s local currency against the US Dollar has had a minor but significant influence on the RLNG pricing in the domestic market.

The adjustments aim to keep the RLNG prices aligned with global trends while considering the local economic conditions, making it crucial for both businesses and consumers to stay updated on the new pricing structures for January 2025.
