ISLAMABAD, AUGUST 14: Today, Pakistan is celebrating its 77th Independence Day with much enthusiasm and pride in the country. People came out at midnight to celebrate August 14 with fireworks, and streets around the nation were crowded with revelers.

Great fireworks lit up the night sky in major cities including Karachi, Lahore, and Peshawar, signifying the happiness and togetherness of the country.

The green crescent flag and multicolored lights were used to adorn both public and private structures, including houses and workplaces, to symbolize Pakistan’s identity and goals.

While crowds of people flocked to the beach in Karachi, a musical event was held at Lahore’s Minar-e-Pakistan in Greater Iqbal Park, adding to the day’s joyful vibe. The centerpiece of the festivities was the nation’s historical and cultural sites.

A somber yet lively Independence Parade was held at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul in Abbottabad, with principal of Army Staff General (COAS) Syed Asim Munir as the principal guest.

The PMA cadets honored the martyrs who gave their lives in defense of the country’s independence by showcasing their flawless drill technique.

At the Sindh Governor House, Karachi also held a large celebration named “Fard Nahi Qoom Hain Hum” (We Are a Nation, Not Individuals).
In celebration of the day, a 1,000-pound cake was sliced, and the old structure was decked out in festivity.

In addition to participating in the festivities, the UAE Consulate in Karachi held a ceremony at which diplomas and high-performance prizes were given out. Notable individuals like Faryal Talpur and Asifa Bhutto Zardari were present at the function.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi attended the Governor House’s Azadi Night Music Ceremony in Peshawar.

Smaller towns such as Toba Tek Singh also participated, with the district administration arranging a fireworks show at the local football field to enhance the festive atmosphere of the community’s Independence Day celebration.

In addition to commemorating the sacrifices made for independence and the nation’s collective accomplishments since its founding 77 years ago, the celebrations held around Pakistan showed the nation’s togetherness and will to go forward.
