Islamabad, Mar 25, 2025: Pakistan and China are strengthening their collaboration in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and data sciences by launching advanced training programs for Pakistani students at top Chinese institutions.
During a meeting in Islamabad, Minister for IT and Telecom, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, held discussions with the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong.
The meeting focused on enhancing digital cooperation and equipping Pakistani youth with cutting-edge technological skills to drive innovation and economic growth.
Shaza Fatima emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to deepening its partnership with China, particularly in the realm of ICT development.
She highlighted the significance of leveraging China’s expertise in digital governance, AI, and data sciences to empower Pakistani students with world-class education and training opportunities.
The collaboration is expected to contribute to Pakistan’s digital transformation and foster a skilled workforce for the future.
The Chinese ambassador reaffirmed China’s support in strengthening Pakistan’s digital landscape.

Meanwhile, in a separate development, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif chaired a federal cabinet meeting to review essential commodity price monitoring during Ramazan.
This was the first official meeting following the recent cabinet expansion.
The prime minister welcomed the new members and reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring price stability and consumer relief.

During the meeting, Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal provided insights into the measures the government is taking to regulate essential item prices, ensuring affordability for citizens.

In another major decision, the cabinet approved the Directorate of Religious Education as an affiliated department under the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training

Additionally, the government has taken a significant step in the cybersecurity domain.
The cabinet approved the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Pakistan’s National Cyber Emergency Response Team and China’s National Computer Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center.
This agreement will strengthen cybersecurity cooperation, improve digital security frameworks, and facilitate knowledge exchange between the two nations
With these developments, Pakistan will advance in AI education, digital transformation, and cybersecurity, further solidifying its strategic partnership with China in the tech sector.
