Islamabad, Nov 10: Pakistan Clinch Historic Win in Australia After 22 Years
After easily chasing down a modest target of 141 runs, Pakistan defeated Australia in the third One-Day International.
The squad finished at 143/2 after reaching the mark in just 26.5 overs, despite early losses.
Pakistan has made a big step toward winning the series with this victory.
Player of the Series and Player of the Match went to Haris Rauf.
His outstanding performance was crucial because the Australian team was dominated by Pakistan’s bowlers, who dismissed them for just 140 runs in 31.5 overs.
Rauf attributed the victory to the team’s diligence and the quick bowlers’ superb communication.
“This means a lot to Pakistan, because we’ve been struggling a lot for the last few months,” he said. “We’re playing for the fans who come to support us every time.”
Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam played a key role in the pursuit. Azam added 23 runs, and Rizwan stayed undefeated at 29 off 24 balls.
With 58 runs between them, Rizwan and Azam’s partnership made it easy for Pakistan to reach the goal.
Pakistan reached 143/2 with four wickets left, and the victory never appeared in doubt with to their strong run rate of 5.32.
Although Adam Zampa and Aaron Hardie bowled admirably, Australia’s score of 140 was insufficient.
Pakistan’s well-organized attack constantly placed pressure on Australia’s batting, which suffered as a result.
Taking three wickets and dismissing Lance Morris with a stunning delivery to end Australia’s innings, Shaheen Shah Afridi was especially impressive.
Afridi’s control and ability to extract movement off the pitch caused major problems for the Australian batters.
A pivotal spell was also given by Naseem Shah, who took three wickets while keeping the pressure on. Since no meaningful partnerships formed, Australia’s batting lineup never really settled into a groove.
With precise lines and deft movement, Pakistan’s bowlers—particularly Afridi and Naseem—held Australia at bay.
This triumph, which highlights Pakistan’s strong bowling and batting performance, is a significant turning point in their tour of Australia.
Pakistan is ready to win the series with this decisive victory, which will give them more energy for the upcoming game.
