Islamabad, Aug 24: The aircraft carrying Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi traveled over Pakistani airspace on Saturday morning on its way back to Delhi from Poland.
The aircraft entered Pakistani airspace around 10:15 a.m. and remained there for 46 minutes, according to civil aviation sources.
At 11:01 a.m., the aircraft entered Pakistani territory at Chitral, traveled through the Lahore and Islamabad air control zones, and then exited Pakistani airspace over Amritsar. Authorities in charge of civil aviation stated that the airplane was watched intently as it passed over important areas of Pakistan and into Indian territory.
Amidst increased tensions over the Kashmir conflict, Pakistan turned down an invitation from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to use its airspace for a flight to Germany in 2019. But in 2021, after two years, Pakistan gave his nonstop flight permission to pass through its airspace on its way to the United States.
