Islamabad, Jan 11: Pakistan is gearing up for the Asian Winter Games, set to take place from February 7 to 14 in Harbin, China, with two of its top winter sports athletes, Mohammad Karim and Mohammad Shabbir, ready to represent the nation on the international stage. This small yet resolute contingent marks Pakistan’s continuing progress in the field of winter sports.

The Athletes: Mohammad Karim and Mohammad Shabbir

Mohammad Karim, a seasoned alpine skier, will compete in the alpine skiing events scheduled for February 8-9. A trailblazer in Pakistani winter sports, Karim has represented Pakistan in three Winter Olympics and has gained significant experience at previous Asian Winter Games. His goal is to not only deliver a strong performance but also elevate the visibility of winter sports in Pakistan.

On the other hand, Mohammad Shabbir, a cross-country skier, will participate in his events from February 8-12. Known for his endurance and dedication, Shabbir is ready to take on the challenges of one of the most physically demanding winter sports. His presence at the Games signals Pakistan’s growing ambition in diverse winter sports disciplines.

The Pakistan Contingent

Supporting the athletes is a team of four officials who will oversee the contingent’s operations:
