Islamabad, Sep 12: When Pakistan’s ambassador to the UN, Munir Akram, paid a formal visit to Cameroonia’s Philemon Yang, the newly elected president of the 193-member Assembly, on Wednesday at UN headquarters in New York, he talked with Yang about the agenda of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly and gave him Pakistan’s cooperation.

As Ambassador Yang took over as UNGA President for the current session, the Ambassador congratulated him.In the midst of the numerous complicated issues the world is currently facing, Ambassador Akram applauded President Yan’s focus throughout the conference on sustainable economic growth, peace and security, and human dignity three essential tenets of the UN Charter.

Under his sage leadership, he conveyed Pakistan’s hope that the UN will be able to effectively handle the world’s problems.The President of the General Assembly thanked Ambassador Akram for his kind words of congratulations.

President Yang expressed his gratitude for the meeting with Ambassador Munir Akram, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, in a post on X, the previous Twitter platform. Thank you for your support with the 79th session’s work and the upcoming #UNGA79 High-Level Week.
