Islamabad, Sep 2: The website for Pakistan’s National Meteorological Institute (NMIP) will shortly be available. The website was created under the direction of the Ministry of Science and Technology, who will host a link to the NMIP site on their platform.

When the website will go live and what services and information it will offer are unknown. As of right now, Google searches for “Pakistan’s National Meteorology Institute (NMIP)” get no results for the webpages.

Recall that the Meteorology Institute’s website should not be confused with the one for Pakistan’s “Metrology” institute. Both of them use the acronym NMIP.

The public should have simple access to meteorological information, forecasts, advisories, and historical data, which will help with preparation and safety. By making data, services, and activity information about the institute easily accessible, it should help encourage transparency.

Within the first week of taking office, the recently appointed Director General, Dr. Zaheer Hussain, gave the website first priority. He claims that a website serves as the “face” of any contemporary business, making it essential in today’s digital environment.

In an effort to enhance the NMIP itself, Dr. Hussain has also given his team instructions to draft a PC-1 proposal. This proposal describes how to acquire new machinery and upgrade old equipment to comply with modern technological standards.
