Islamabad, Dec 22: A flotilla of three Pakistani Navy warships has arrived at the First Naval Region of the Iranian Army in the southern port city of Bandar Abbas.
The visit is part of efforts to strengthen operational and training ties between the navies of Pakistan and Iran. Senior commanders from the First Naval Region, along with Pakistan’s consul general and naval attaché in Iran, attended the welcoming ceremony.
Captain Omid Maghani, commander of the surface vessel division in the First Naval Region, welcomed the Pakistani flotilla, emphasizing the significance of such visits in fostering stronger relations. He noted that friendly exchanges between naval forces of allied nations are customary and underscored the role of the visit in enhancing operational collaboration, training, and sharing maritime expertise.
Over their four-day stay, Pakistani naval personnel will engage in various activities, including cultural tours, sports events, and official meetings. The visit will conclude with a joint naval exercise in the northern Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf, aimed at fostering regional cooperation and mutual trust.
Captain Maghani highlighted that these exchanges reinforce international relations and promote messages of peace and friendship.
