Islamabad, Feb 3: Saudi Arabia has witnessed a remarkable surge in popularity among Pakistani travelers, with arrivals soaring by over 100% annually, as reported by the leading travel service app, Wego.

This growth highlights the country’s increasing prominence in global tourism, driven by key initiatives under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

Saudi Arabia’s appeal to Pakistanis extends far beyond religious tourism. While the annual pilgrimage to Makkah and Madinah remains a central reason for visits, the nation is becoming a sought-after destination for leisure, business, and adventure.

The government’s strategic focus on enhancing its tourism infrastructure is paying off, drawing tourists from around the world, especially from Pakistan, where there is a deep cultural and religious connection to the kingdom.

Wego is at the forefront of this travel boom, ensuring that Pakistani travelers can easily access and book their trips through its user-friendly platform. Recently, Wego launched its “Book on Wego” service, allowing users to seamlessly book flights and accommodations.

This innovative feature caters specifically to the needs of Pakistani travelers, simplifying the booking process and offering exclusive deals with budget-friendly options.

The platform’s success is further solidified by the company’s partnership with the Saudi Tourism Authority, which was prominently featured during Pakistan’s premier travel event, the Pakistan Travel Mart (PTM) 2025.

With a significant increase in travel-related searches, particularly to Saudi Arabia, Wego’s CEO, Dean Wicks, shared that there has been a 120% growth in searches for domestic flights and a strong annual rise in bookings to international destinations, notably Saudi Arabia.

This surge aligns with the increasing demand for seamless travel experiences, which Wego meets by offering a diverse range of services, including exclusive discounts, eSIM offers, and free data for international travelers.

The platform not only serves as a bridge for religious tourism but also promotes business, leisure, and eco-tourism. With over 2.5 million Pakistani residents in Saudi Arabia, many of whom visit for business or leisure, Wego is making travel more accessible than ever.

As Saudi Arabia continues to enhance its tourism offerings, it remains a preferred destination for Pakistani travelers, and Wego is making sure their journey is as convenient and cost-effective as possible.

By focusing on affordability, variety, and convenience, Wego is revolutionizing how Pakistanis experience global travel, further solidifying Saudi Arabia’s position as the leading destination in the region.
