Islamabad, Dec 4: The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, has congratulated the Pakistan Blind Cricket Team on their historic victory in the T20 World Cup 2024. The team won their first-ever WBCC Blind Cricket T20 World Cup title with a dominant ten-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the final, held in Multan on Tuesday.
Naqvi expressed immense pride in the team’s achievement, praising the players for their exceptional performance and unwavering dedication. He also acknowledged the crucial role of the management team in guiding the players to success.
“The players of the Blind Cricket Team delivered an exceptional performance, earning the prestigious title of T20 World Champions,” Naqvi said. He further commended the management for their strategic efforts and the players for their teamwork and dedication throughout the tournament.
The final match saw Bangladesh post a modest total of 139 runs after losing seven wickets. Pakistan’s Babar Ali led the bowling attack with three key wickets, while Motiullah and Mohammad Salman took one wicket each.
Pakistan’s opening pair of Nisar Ali (72*) and Mohammad Safdar (47*) chased down the target in just 11 overs, securing a remarkable 10-wicket victory.
Chairman Mohsin Naqvi expressed optimism for the future, hopeful that the team will maintain their momentum in upcoming tournaments.
