Islamabad, April 5, 2025: The PCB has announced that PSL 10 will fully implement Match Officials’ Technology to improve transparency, decision-making.
While some aspects of MOT had been trialed in earlier seasons, PSL 10 will mark the first time the technology is used in its entirety.
It includes features such as automatic detection of no-balls via ultra-motion cameras, real-time umpire communication linked to the DRS, and live innings timers.
Cricket fans will also benefit from added transparency.
Ball-by-ball over-rate calculations will be displayed, and supporters will be able to monitor DRS countdowns and innings timings during the matches.

Officials on the field will be equipped with hand-held tablets, allowing them to manage over-rates and trigger DRS instantly.
Match referees will gain access to multi-angle replays and instant video clips, while embedded microphones will provide clearer audio during reviews.
PSL Chief Executive Salman Naseer stated that the adoption of MOT was the result of extensive planning and reflects the league’s commitment to innovation.
He noted that the technology would help ensure that decisions made are fair and transparent, thereby strengthening trust among players and fans.
The 10th edition of the PSL begins with defending champions Islamabad United facing Lahore Qalandars at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The tournament will run until May 18, featuring 34 matches across four venues: Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, and Multan.
Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium will host 13 matches, including the final and both Eliminators.
Rawalpindi will stage 11 matches, including the first Qualifier on May 13, while Karachi and Multan will host five games each.
Three double-headers are also scheduled, including one on May 1, observed as Labour Day.
With MOT now fully embedded, PSL 10 is expected to set a new benchmark for cricket officiating in the region.
