Islamabad, Jan 4: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering an inclusive society by empowering individuals through accessible education and resources. In his message on World Braille Day, January 4, 2024, he highlighted key initiatives, such as equipping schools with Braille books, improving teacher training, and establishing specialized centers for visually impaired students. These efforts aim to ensure that all citizens, regardless of their abilities, have equal opportunities to succeed.

The Prime Minister recognized Braille as more than just a system for reading and writing, but as a powerful tool for inclusivity, enabling visually impaired individuals to access knowledge, communicate effectively, and lead independent lives. “Braille is a window to inclusivity and equal opportunities,” he said, underscoring its transformative role in empowering people with visual impairments.

Sharif also reflected on the significance of World Braille Day as a reminder that true progress is measured by the inclusiveness of society. He called for continued efforts to build a Pakistan where every citizen has the platform and resources to thrive. He urged individuals and institutions to actively contribute to the promotion of accessibility and inclusivity for all, reinforcing the government’s pledge to create a more equitable society.

Through these initiatives, the government aims to ensure that visually impaired individuals have the support and resources necessary to lead dignified, independent lives, contributing to a more inclusive Pakistan.
