A Climate Application Forum was organized on Tuesday by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) and the Regional Integrated MultiHazard Early Warning System (RIMES).Experts, decision-makers, and interested parties from a range of industries convened at this event to talk about cutting-edge approaches and uses for catastrophe risk reduction and climate resilience.
Dr. Muhammad Afzaal, Chief Meteorologist at PMD, gave a thought-provoking keynote speech to kick off the forum. He stressed the urgent need for improved climate services and cutting-edge applications to lessen the effects of climate change.Lt. Gen. (Rted.) Nadeem Ahmad, Advisor at RIMES, who was the chief guest, emphasized the necessity for cooperation in the fight against climate change and extreme weather.
“This forum marks a significant milestone in our efforts to integrate cutting-edge climate science with practical applications,” stated Sahibzad Khan, Director General of PMD. Our commitment to strengthening early warning system capabilities and promoting a climate change readiness and resilience culture is demonstrated by our partnership with RIMES.

The forum included the most recent developments in climate science and sustainable practices through a number of lectures, panel discussions, and interactive activities. The World Bank and Climate Adaptation and Resilience (CARE) provided assistance for this event.As the Climate Application Forum came to an end, there was a pledge to continued cooperation and the creation of workable solutions to climate-related problems.
